If you have a passion for business, sales or customer service, this could be the perfect job for you.
Everyone who works for Enterprise starts off as a Management Trainee and works their way up within the company, which is great, as you get to learn and develop new skills making it easier for you to decide what kind of field you want to work in, as you move further up the company ladder; whether you’re interested in working in HR or sales, Enterprise helps you find the career path that is best suited for you.

To think five years from graduating from university you could be an Area Manager of five or more stores, and that is just the beginning…
Enterprise visited De Montfort University, not only to present to students the great opportunities they had to offer but to also give some hints and tips on successful job searching and that all-important preparation for job interviews, which isn’t as easy as sticking graduate on your CV.
Key tips for a successful job search:
- Preparation, preparation, preparation!
- Research; this will help make you stand out from the crowd
- Practice interviews; maybe write down some questions you think they may ask you
You may be wondering how you do the research; you can simply:
- Go on the Internet
- Contact the company or HR department
- Make use of your university’s Careers Services
- Go to career fairs
Some of you may think that being prepared and doing your research isn’t important but it helps you gain confidence. If you know what you’re talking about, you come across confident, and employers like that! It is also good to develop some impressive questions to ask; this will show your enthusiasm, keenness and seriousness.
Most companies have competencies. Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s competencies are:
- Sales/persuasion skills
- Communication skills
- Work ethics
- Customer service
Networking is also another great way of preparing yourself for a job interview. You should start with researching the company’s website, see if they have a Twitter or Facebook page, and follow it. Businesses are always putting job fair details on their social networking sites, so this would be a good start. You could even visit the company, go in and ask questions, don’t be scared! What’s the worst that could happen? It also looks good to understand the company’s competition; it just gives you that edge on other people applying for the same job as you. This will definitely help make you stand out from the crowd, and most importantly, if you’ve done all this and then get invited for an interview, always, always, always follow-up with the employer after the interview.
Enterprise’s 4 top tips are:
1. Understand your weaknesses and understand your key strengths
2. Push yourself and don’t limit yourself
3. If you’re nervous, don’t let your nerves get the better of you
4. If you have passion, drive yourself
