MIT stands for Manager In Training.
In this graduate scheme, everyone starts from the bottom and works their way up. It lasts 8-10 weeks and every week you will be learning about new topics such as recruiting staff, health and safety operations and presentation focus, etc.
You will have an MIT binder and sign off when all these tasks are completed. Each week you will have a 10-question test on what you have learnt in the week; this is to keep your memory fresh for when you have your 100-question exam (don’t worry – it’s not as scary as it sounds!) Sam mentioned she doesn’t know anyone that has failed this test, as they keep reminding you what you need to know and it sticks in your head!
Once you have passed this test, you will be given a set of keys for your own store and you will run the store as you have been taught to!
You will never have to wait to be promoted; it is a quick-moving business. If you show dedication and promise in your performance, you can be promoted within the first 3 months of your official job after your graduate scheme!
